ACA Member | Chronic Pain Counselling
Living with chronic pain can feel exhausting, frustrating, and at times overwhelming. Support is available, and online counselling can help you understand and manage the impact pain has on your life, wherever you are in the world.
About Deborah
I have personally lived with chronic pain for over 25 years, so I understand how deeply it can affect work, relationships, sleep, mood, and hope. I also recognise the impact pain can have on family and loved ones who want to help but may not know how.
My approach is eclectic and tailored to each person. Together we can explore pain neuroscience education, nervous system regulation, mindfulness practices, emotional processing, and practical strategies for long-term support.
You do not have to face this journey alone.
What Is Chronic Pain?
Chronic pain is generally pain that lasts longer than three months, or beyond the normal time expected for an injury or illness to heal. It can persist even when there is no clear physical cause and may fluctuate in intensity over time.
Chronic pain is complex. It can affect the body, nervous system, emotions, thoughts, and overall wellbeing. When pain persists, the brain and body can become stuck in a heightened stress response.
Counselling provides a safe and supportive space to understand these patterns and gently retrain the mind and body toward greater calm, balance, and confidence.
